About Mission Arenas
Mission Arenas were in-person events organised by BlueMissionBANOS to support the goals of the EU Mission Ocean and Waters in the Baltic and North Sea regions. Through workshops, pitching sessions, demonstrations, and networking, the events brought together stakeholders to explore innovative solutions and showcase local, regional, and national approaches to a circular and carbon-neutral blue economy.
Most importantly, the Mission Arenas created a space for dialogue and co-creation, allowing stakeholders to reflect on key challenges and shape ambitious Regional Roadmaps that outline the steps the region must take to effectively contribute to the broader objectives of the EU Mission Ocean and Waters.
1st Mission Arena
The 1st Mission Arena took place on 14-16 November 2023 in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the Lindholmen Conference Centre. The focus of the event was on the Western Baltic, covering western Germany, eastern Denmark, south-western Sweden and southern Norway.

2nd Mission Arena
The Mission Arena 2 took place at H2O 6 kvartāls event hall in Riga, Latvia, on 25-26 April 2024, back-to-back with the 2024 Ministerial Meeting on the Baltic Sea Marine Environment. The event focused on regional actors in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and eastern Sweden.

3rd Mission Arena
The Mission Arena 3 took place at the Wicked Grounds Conference Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, hosted in cooperation with the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership. The event was centred around the work done in the North Sea region, including the Netherlands, Belgium, western Germany, western Denmark, and northern France.

4th Mission Arena
The Mission Arena 4 took place in Sopot, Poland, on 28-29 April 2025 in conjunction with the Blue Economy Baltic Forum and the Polish EU Council Presidency. This Arena focused on the region including Poland, eastern Germany, eastern Denmark, and south-eastern Sweden.
